Software Recommendations

Any recommendations made here are because I have used the software or the company and have found them useful and reliable. I have no connections with any software publisher or reseller.

Kidspiration: This is the new K - 5 version of Inspiration, a software program for visual learning to help students organize, understand, and express ideas. You can see examples and download a free trial version.
Paint.Net: This is a free image and photo editing application that can replace MS Paint that comes with the Windows operating system. To run it, you must have Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Server 2003. It has a great advantage over the original Paint because it gives the user the ability to use layers.
Schoolhouse Technologies - Worksheet Factory: This company has a new name, but it continues to offer a software program called Math Worksheet Factory Deluxe that is a real timesaver. You can make worksheets covering a wide variety of math skills very quickly and with an answer key. You can make many changes in the format to meet your needs. It is very user-friendly.

You can download the trial version to try it out yourself. It is very inexpensive and any updates they have made in the software have always been free. In addition, they offer several free software programs, a vocabulary program, and a new map program. They are also available for trial before you purchase them.
Educational Fontware, Inc.: This company sells the popular handwriting fonts for use on your computer. They are very useful for making writing practice sheets for students. Individual and school site licenses are available.
